For Immediate Release

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., November 1995 - F-USA President Doug Gonda and NASB President Roger Edmondson jointly announced today that Formula USA would become the premier class at all NASB championship races beginning in 1996.

"We began talking about the future of the sport earlier this year and it quickly became clear that we had a lot in common. The idea of merging our series together just naturally evolved from those discussions," Edmondson explained. "Doug has been quite an innovator in this sport and we agreed that combining his talent and experience with ours would help us both achieve our goals."

"I decided earlier this year I had to take Formula USA in a new direction. When Roger and Pat (Murphy, co-founder of NASB) started their series, I could see they were doing things right and I wanted to be involved," Gonda added. "Formula USA has a proven track record and I look forward to even greater growth with this new series."

The Formula USA class will replace the Superbike class featured in NASB's 1995 series. "Formula USA is an extension of where we were at with Superbikes. We've talked with some of the riders and teams racing with us now, and everyone seems excited about the change," Murphy explained. A full description of the NASB/FUSA program will be released next month.
