:: Archived News Home | 12/05 - 3/06 | 4/06 - 6/06 | 7/06 - 9/06 | 10/06 - 12/06 Archived NewsApril 2006 - June 20066.16.06 > Paul Farrell Memorial Wegman Benefit Drive Gets Boost from Kern and CCS/ASRA < June 24th marks the arrival of the 6th annual CCS Festival of Speed at Virginia International Raceway and the 4th annual Wegman Benefit Fund Drive in memory of Paul Farrell. As previously announced, A & J Recognition, the CCS/ASRA awards supplier, kick-started the drive by pledging cash prizes and the annual Paul Farrell Memorial Trophy. In response to A&J’s commitment, the American Sportbike Racing Association has pledged $5.00 per entry from the weekend’s ASRA sprints to go to the Wegman Fund.
6.05.06 > Heartland Park-Topeka Welcomes the Heart of America Cyclefest < The newly re-surfaced road course at Heartland Park-Topeka will play host to the pivotal round of the America Sportbike Racing Association's National Championship Series on June 16-18, 2006. For the first time since the early '90s you will be able to experience America's road course in its entirety, which is sure to be a thrill, whether you're racing or just watching. 5.29.06 > Summit Point Festival of Speed News Coverage < "Jensen Wins Two CCS Races, Sets New Track Record Sunday At Summit Point Raceway" 5.20.06 > V.I.R. Track Day and Riders' Schools Pre-Registration < Cornerspeed's Aaron Stevenson has advised us that there are 2 opportunities for riders to get in valuable track time and schooling before our V.I.R. Festival of Speed June 24-25 - Monday June 19 as well as Friday June 23. Aaron added, "Demand is so high this year that we are selling out." Therefore, pre-registration is highly recommended. To read more and to download the track day pre-registration form visit our V.I.R. information page. As a reminder, we must receive all pre-entries for the V.I.R. CCS and ASRA races by June 9. This is also highly recommended especially because it is a double points weekend for 2 regions. 5.18.06 > CCS and ASRA Still Accept Charge Cards At Races < The Championship Cup Series and American Sportbike Racing Association would like to quash the ridiculous rumor that has been spread about only being able to use your Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards to pre-enter. That is wrong. All four major credit cards and debit cards are still accepted at the racetrack for licensing and post-entry. Event - Wegman Benefit Paul Farrell Memorial Weekend < The Championship Cup Series and American Sportbike Racing Association today announced that the 6th Annual Festival of Speed, June 24th-25th at Virginia International Raceway, will also be an official Wegman Benefit Fund weekend in honor and memory of friend and staff member Paul Farrell.- Read Entire Article 4.23.06 > RESULTS, POINTS, CCS FORUM ADDRESS CHANGE < Road America's Results have been posted and Ryan at SuperbikePics.com has posted Photos from Road America on his site. RoadRace SW has posted the results for Firebird Main (April 22-23). Points have been posted for ASRA and Team Challenge. We're working on updating the points for Great Plains and Mid-West Regions and hope to have them available for viewing within the week. Points have been updated for the SouthWest Region and can be viewed on-line here. The "THE NEW - THE IMPROVED - CCS FORUM HAS LAUNCHED". Our "Unofficial Fan Forum" has a new look and web address. (The www.racemotorcycles.com address will redirect you, but that may change in the near future.) 4.18.06 > RESULTS & POINTS UPDATE < We enjoyed toasting (and roasting) our 2005 SouthEast Region Champions this past weekend. Thanks to all who attended! The Results for the races at Carolina Motorsports Park have been posted and Points for the SE and MA regions will be updated shortly. 4.10.06 > 2005 CERTIFICATE USE POLICY CHANGE < Effective immediately, unexpired 2005 Credit/Refund/Purse Certificate Coupons may be used only for mailed-in Pre-Entries for these tracks: Only original, authentic, numbered coupons issued by CCS/Clear Channel will be accepted. Verify the expiration date before mailing. Your coupon must be received by CCS on or before the expiration date. These coupons cannot be used towards License fees and will not be accepted for post entries. Note: 2006 Lockhart Phillips Certificates may be used at all tracks - except Daytona and New Hampshire - for Post or Pre-Entry - One Entry Per Rider Per Weekend. 4.07.06 > POINTS AND RESULTS UPDATES COMPLETED < The Southeast and Florida Championship Points have been updated; Jennings GP Results have been posted. 4.05.06 > SCHEDULE UPDATES .. NEW WEBSITE LAYOUT < Thanks to the "eagle eyes" of our members, the discrepancies between the Full Schedule and the Region Schedules (especially the double & single points weekends) have been corrected. We appreciate your input! In addition to the new pages listed above, our entire site has been redesigned. The wider page layout not only gives our advertisers the exposure they deserve, but also looks better when viewed on machines using higher resolution (laptops, etc.). ...
