Also new for 2007 is the Pirelli Rewards Card, providing nearly instant payouts. The Pirelli Rewards Card provides a speedy, online rewards system. For road racers competing in the AMA Superbike series or AMA ProStar Drag Racing, contingencies earned will be paid with a preloaded American Express card that can be used anywhere American Express is accepted. For racers competing in all other Pirelli-supported, road racing series, Pirelli’s contingency payouts are powered by American Express Incentive Services through the Pirelli Rewards Card, and can only be used exclusively for tire purchases, through Pirelli’s racing vendor network. After earning Pirelli Rewards at races, log on and enter your racing results into the racing calendar. The first Pirelli Rewards Card will be mailed by April 30th. After that the cards will be mailed every two weeks in the amounts of rewards earned. This is a new program and racers must complete the registration to be eligible. We regret to announce the passing of William Ritger, 53, of Watertown WI on Wednesday January 10, 2007 after a battle with cancer. Bill Ritger wore many hats for CCS over the two decades of service, best known as ASRA/CCS Race Control, he was the current ASRA/CCS Safety Director as well as one of the founding members of the Mid-West Safety Crew. His total focus was the sport of motorcycling, whether it was riding his own bike with his wife Claudia at his side from Wisconsin to VIR to work corners for the racers, or pushing for increased safety for all ASRA/CCS riders. Bill always made it clear what his priorities were, Claudia, motorcycling and a good beer. Now that was a man you could respect. The Mid-West Safety Crew is developing fund raising events to help the family defray the medical costs involved with his battle, more information will be posted as it becomes available. We in his ASRA/CCS family, as well as the motorcycling family as a whole, will miss Bill. Our prayers go out to Claudia and their family. Godspeed Bill Ritger, I will miss you my friend but I will never forget you. Kevin Elliott P.S. We have learned the following from emails and the CCS Fan Forum: The memorial service will be on Jan 20th. Visitation 10:30 - 11:30, service at 11:30am. Location: St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 413 S 2nd ST, Watertown, WI 53904 Claudia has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bill's name to either the Red Flag Fund or the Rainbow Hospice, which has been providing Bill excellent care over the past couple of weeks. Also, a "Bill & Claudia Ritger Benefit" fund has been organized to help Claudia with their substantial medical expenses.
